Your Guide to this Summer’s Festivals

Festival season is nearly upon us and we’re super excited! What’s better than live music and a glorious British Summer’s day? From Reading Festival to the Funk & Soul Weekender, we’ve collated our top 8 festivals just for you!

Funk & Soul Weekender, Margate

2nd – 4th June

The Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender returns to Margate this Summer and it has an incredible line up. Kool and the Gang will be headlining with their unique blend of rhythm and blues, disco, jazz and funk. One of the world’s most popular funk and soul bands, they come armed with a catalogue of disco classics including Celebration, Get Down On It, and Jungle Boogie which sound just as good to this day.

New Orleans’ own Grammy Award winning Hot 8 Brass Band also join the bill, serving up hip-hop, jazz and funk. Craig Charles, David Rodigan, Norman Jay, Eddie Miller and Trojan Sound System will also be in attendance with many more huge names still yet to be announced. Isle of Wight Festival, Newport

15th – 18th June

This festival has span an astonishing 54 years and we’re delighted that the Isle of Wight Festival is back to kickstart festival season this year. Top artists set to perform this year include George Ezra, Pulp, The Chemical Brothers and Robbie Williams. Other performers include Anna-Marie, One Republic, Groove Armada and Blondie.

There’s plenty of accommodation options from camping and glamping to local hotels, Air BnBs and luxury campervans, so we’re sure there will be something to suit everyone’s budgets and tastes. Lytham Festival, Lytham St Anne’s

28th June – 2nd July

Situated on the beach in Lancashire, Lytham Festival, formerly known as Lytham Proms, has been taking place since 2010. This year, Jamiroquai, George Ezra, Sting, Lionel Richie and Mötley Crüe & Def Leppard will be headlining each day with other artists such as Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Cat Burns and Kaiser Chiefs completing the line up. Love Supreme Jazz Festival, East Sussex

30th June – 2nd July

The Love Supreme Jazz Festival is celebrating it’s 10th year this year, and as jazz lovers, we’re delighted that this festival continues year on year.

The Sunday Telegraph says this festival is “the most spectacular jazz festival in the country” and is in fact the largest outdoor jazz festival in Europe! Love Supreme hosts a world-class line up of jazz, RnB, funk and soul and is situated in the iconic South Downs of East Sussex. Camp Bestival, Dorset

27th – 30th July

Grace Jones, Craig David, The Kooks, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ella Henderson are all performing at this year’s Camp Bestival in Dorset.

This festival is one for all the family with activities, live music and food for all ages. There’s theatre & shows from the likes of Horrible Histories, the Jitterbug Circus and Mister Maker whilst the adults can enjoy live talks and shows from Chris Packham, Fearne Cotton and Elle Mace. Wilderness, Oxfordshire

3rd – 6th August

Wilderness Festival located in Oxfordshire is a 4 day affair celebrating live music, food & drink and the arts. This year’s music acts include The Chemical Brothers, Christine and the Queens and Fatboy Slim. Arlo Parks, Franc Moody and the Sugababes will also be performing across the festival.

Rewind, Henley

18th – 20th August

Rewind is an annual festival that celebrates artists that had success in the 1980s.

This is not only a great festival but you also have to check out The Pink Flamingo Club, the silent disco and funfair whilst you’re onsite. Plus, there’s a dedicated Kidszone. Reading Festival, Reading

25th – 27th August

For anyone that lives in or around Reading, we don’t need to introduce this festival to you… Formerly Reading Rock Festival, today’s line-up is a little more pop-infused with the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish and Sam Fender all headlining this year’s festival.
