You can tell by the name that we're fanatical about outstanding live music. But don't be fooled… When we opened at this location in 2001 we only played the finest UK Jazz, then we quickly branched out into Soul, Funk, & RnB. It's what our customers wanted. And it's why The Jazz Café has grown to be the South's leading restaurant and live music venue; it's the perfect place for a great night out. Today we continue to play music from these genres. Our showcase events have already included such great names as Courtney Pine, Average White Band, Alexander O'Neil, The Commitments, The Real Thing, and Shakatak. In 2010 we extended our playlist in to include exceptional tributes to Queen, Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé, the Rolling Stones, Madness and Elvis, complemented by some of the best DJ's around. All this in an intimate yet lively setting where you'll feel the bands are playing just to you.

But we're also passionate about providing our guests with delicious food and a superb bar in a truly inviting atmosphere and the warmest welcome in Reading. Our 100-cover restaurant offers tables for two up to parties of 100. Everyone has their table for the whole evening – just a rolling stone's throw from the stage! Or just come for the music.
