Wedding Trends of 2023

Wedding Trends of 2023

As it’s currently engagement season, we thought now was the best time to share what we think will be the top wedding trends of 2023. A handful of these trends were already around in 2022, but we think they’ll only grow stronger throughout this year too. So, if you are getting married this year, why not check out these trends for your special day…

Midday Ceremonies

If you have the flexibility with the registrar or church to choose when you say your vows, why not opt for a midday ceremony? Not only does this time give your guests the entire morning to travel to your venue but also it means that the rest of your day is less rushed. Once you’ve said “I do”, it gives your guests and yourselves, time to relax over the drinks reception and sit down and enjoy your wedding breakfast without clock watching.

Once your main meal is over, your guests are free to relax before then gearing up to go all out at your evening wedding reception. As you’ve had a chilled afternoon, your guests will be ready to party right through to the early hours of the morning, so that everyone can really make the most of your day!

Over-The-Top Cakes

One of the reasons we all love weddings is the food, let’s be honest, and the wedding cake is of course no exception. Couples often opt for a multi-tiered cake packed full of different flavour options, so it makes sense that huge, over-the-top cakes are set to remain a wedding trend of 2023.

Statement Aisles

Wedding décor continues to get better and better with new ideas always coming to the forefront, and statement aisles are no exception. What used to grace the front pages of a lifestyle magazine, can now become a reality for your very own dream ceremony. It may be that you’d like flowers lining each side of the aisle, or even a quirky floral structure to get married under – whatever it is, statement aisles are sure to continue to grow in popularity…

Colour

This wedding trend is actually one of our favourites! We see a lot of weddings through our doors, and it’s so lovely to see that couples are becoming braver and bolder with their colour choices and themes!

Weddings are classically thought of as white, and to add a pop of colour is not often common, however when you theme your wedding around the time of year that you’re getting married, or choose colours that mean something to you, it really elevates your décor and makes your day that bit more special. For example, if you’re getting married in Winter, why not inject deep pink and red into your table décor? If your partner’s favourite colour is green and yours is blue, why not work with your florist to combine the two colours to get the best of both worlds?

Grazing Boards

For a fun alternative to your traditional evening buffet, why not opt for a grazing board…

The possibilities are endless when it comes to grazing boards; cheese & biscuits, fresh fruit, desserts, pizza slices & snacks…. And not only do these grazing boards give your guests a huge selection of food for them to choose from, they look super cool too! Ask your venue to get creative and create one of these specifically for your special day!
