Why Spring is the perfect time to host events

It’s officially springtime here in the UK and already we’ve had a number of beautiful, sunny days that have us heading outside and joining friends in pub gardens. The evenings are also lighter, so once you finish work for the day, you still feel like you’ve got some time to enjoy before heading to bed. It’s interesting how the weather can play such a huge part in our moods, and that’s why we think Spring is the perfect time to host events.

Lighter evenings and the possibility of going outdoors

As we’ve just mentioned the lighter evenings are an absolute gamechanger. Let’s be honest, no matter how hard we try, getting ready to go out after work whether it be dinner and drinks or a full-on night out in the Winter is just awful. It’s dark and quite often raining so all we really want to do is make something comforting to eat and get cosy in front of the TV, but when the clocks change and there’s sun post-5pm, that’s when people are ready to come out of hibernation.

Now we know the weather in Spring can still be a little hit and miss, but on the whole you can expect drier and warmer weather, which is fantastic. Whether you’re hosting an event at home or at a venue the nicer weather offers your guests the opportunity to go outside. At home this is such a benefit – less mess, less worry and at a venue it’s perfect for people to get some fresh air, good for the kids to go let off steam and in general not be cramped all in one space. Even better if your venue offers al fresco dining, although we’d highly suggest a wet weather option for that one!

Fresh seasonal menus

Did you know Chefs will change their menus during the Spring? With so much wonderful, fresh produce coming into season, it makes total sense for menus to be revamped in time for the warmer months. Dishes will be lighter, less rich and bursting with flavour. If you’re hiring a venue for your event, choosing the Spring time can be a real win-win as you will benefit from these lovely new menus and fresh produce.

In addition to the menu changeover, another exciting element to consider for your event are the drinks! Spring brings with it a plethora of beautiful flowers, herbs and of course colour, so why not swap out Prosecco for a fun, fresh cocktail? Opt for on-trend Hugo or Aperol Spritz for your arrival drink for a great first impression!

New beginnings

Spring is the time of new beginnings. Flowers are beginning to bloom, animals are giving birth to their offspring, and in general it just feels like nature is defrosting. A lot of the time, private events that we choose to make an occasion of are our new beginnings. Milestone birthdays. Engagements. Graduation parties. Baby showers. So why not align with nature and celebrate your new beginning in the perfect season?
