It can sometimes feel quite overwhelming when you’re in the process of booking your wedding venue, so we’ve put together 10 questions to ask your wedding venue before signing on the dotted line. As a venue, these are also questions we wish couples asked us so that we can ensure the planning process and the wedding day itself runs without a hitch!
- Do you have [insert desired wedding date here] available for a wedding ceremony and / or wedding reception?
- What is your maximum capacity? And are there any minimum number requirements?
- What’s included in your packages?
- What’s the price and are there any other costs not shown that I need to be made aware?
- Do you have onsite accommodation and if you do what is the process of booking bedrooms? Do you offer a discount?
- If the venue doesn’t have accommodation; what hotels are local to you that you recommend and do you have a partnership with them offering reduced rates?
- Where does my ceremony happen? Where does my wedding reception take place? If it’s the same room, how long do you need to turn the room around?
- Can I bring in my own suppliers and if so, what do you require from me?
- Can I bring in my own caterers?
- It’s really important to us that we are able to [insert key criteria / requirements here], do you allow this at your venue?
Question 10 is our favourite. If there is something in particular that is really important to you, then please ask if it’s possible before going ahead with your booking. We always aim to exceed our wedding couples expectations and strive to give them the best possible day, however there are always exceptions that we cannot control and it’s always easier to have this conversation before you’ve confirmed with us than afterwards!
