Real Wedding: A & E’s October Wedding

Real Wedding: A & E’s October Wedding

If you follow us on social media, you may have seen the photos from this couple’s glorious day, but for those that are still searching for their wedding venue and are considering us, here’s how their wedding day went in more detail…

A & E (the happy couple) arrived at The Jazz Café at 3:30pm to plenty of delicious, hand-poured cocktails and fruity mocktails before sitting down to a delicious 3 course meal. As standard, we offer a glass of Prosecco as an arrival drink, but this couple love a cocktail and wanted to incorporate this into their dream day.

Their 3 course wedding breakfast started with a choice of either butternut squash soup, homemade lamb kebabs, tomato & basil salad or jumbo smoked paprika prawn skewers followed by either chicken fillets filled with cream cheese, sundried tomatoes and basil, roasted pork belly, chickpea & lentil curry or a beautiful piece of sea bass. Dessert did not disappoint with a mouth-watering choice of sticky toffee pudding, lemon tart, chocolate brownie or vanilla cheesecake. Service was nice and easy for us, as the couple had given us their menu pre-orders and guests dietary requirements in advance. We also suggest putting your guests menu choices on their place cards as this makes service even speedier!

With the wedding breakfast and speeches over, it was time to relax and enjoy drinks from our bar before the couple’s band kicked off the party. Here at The Jazz Café you are more than welcome to bring in your own band, we just require a copy of their Public Liability Certificate and PAT Testing. Alternatively, we can source a band for you, as we have plenty of incredible artists on our books that regularly play our live music evenings.

Between the band’s sets, DJ Koffie took over to keep the wedding guests on the dancefloor before taking up the decks for the rest of the evening and into the small hours of the morning. The couple had hired huge LED letters, one “A” and one “E” from GM Events Hire (www.gmevents.co.uk) which created a fab focal point on our stage and a great backdrop for photos. The couple also had a photobooth with plenty of props, which their guests had great fun with creating memories.

As the evening drew to a close, some of the guests headed to the Voco hotel (https://www.ihg.com/voco/hotels/gb/en/reading/xrerd/hoteldetail)to rest their heads (and feet!) after their long day. The Voco hotel offers guests of The Jazz Café a discounted rate on accommodation, so it is definitely worth contacting them if you are holding an event or wedding with us.

If you’d like more information about holding your wedding with us, please give us a call on 01189 681 442 or pop us an email to office@thejazzcafe.co.uk – we’d love to hear from you!
