Thinking about the festive season in the height of summer can feel a little premature, however there are a lot of benefits to booking your corporate Christmas party early – and we’re not just talking about the bragging rights!
Better availability = better chance of getting your preferred date(s)
When it comes to Christmas parties, especially if you are a large company requiring a private, exclusive space just for you, there are only really a handful of dates that could be an option. Friday nights always sell out the quickest as these are the days people want and depending on where Christmas falls, there could only be 3 Friday dates available before everyone packs up and heads home for Christmas. Thursday nights have become popular too, and some corporate companies will consider Saturdays, although these aren’t quite as popular as that is seen as eating into people’s personal weekends.
The earlier you book your Christmas party therefore means the better chance you have of securing your preferred date – particularly handy if you only have one or two that works for your company. By booking your corporate Christmas party in July does tend to mean that you will be more likely to secure the date you want; this is especially important for those venues, like us, that only have one event space and can only host one party per date.
Budget planning
Different companies work in different ways when it comes to paying and budgeting for a Christmas party. Some companies budget for it and have an allocated amount to spend, whereas others may only consider a party if they have the funds to do so. In some cases, employees may be paying for themselves, either in full or part payment. In all of these instances, particularly the last two, the earlier you book your party the more time you have to budget for it accordingly.
In most cases, the venue will ask for a deposit and then full payment at least 4 weeks prior to the date of your party. If you book in July and pay the deposit, then you’ve got another 4 months to sort out the rest of the funds whether that’s budgeting for it or allowing people enough time to save.

Entertainment options
It’s no surprise that for tribute artists, bands, and DJs that Christmas is their busiest time of the year. The same can be said for specialist acts, magicians, and other entertainment like casino tables. So, it stands to reason that the earlier you secure your Christmas party venue, the sooner you can book any entertainment. Again, the earlier you do this, the better chance you have of securing the entertainment that you want for the date of your Christmas party. Please keep in mind however that in some cases, July may even be too late, depending on what you are booking. For example, if you’re in the mood for a Michael Bublé tribute artist, you’ll need to book Mr Christmas in January / February time.
