September is historically when venues, like us, start to see an influx of Christmas party bookings. This not only means that if you are considering organising a Christmas party for your company this year that you need to put plans into motion, but it also means that the competition for your preferred date just ramped up.
Venues, similar to ours, will only have the capacity to host one Christmas party on any given date, and just like us will be hosting shared Christmas party nights on some, if not, all key dates, so you’ve got to decide what’s best for your company, a private Christmas party or a shared Christmas party?
The first key difference between the two options, is that one is exclusively for your company and the other is a party made up of smaller groups of people, who could be colleagues, friends or even family. If your company is large enough then naturally you will choose to have a private party, because you have the guest numbers required to fill a venue. The minimum number requirement will vary from venue to venue, so it’s always best to check this first. However, if you are a group of say 50, this won’t be enough for some venues to offer you a private party, so instead you’ll be offered a shared Christmas party.
So, how do you know if this will work for your company?
A shared Christmas party can be a lot of FUN. Everyone loves people watching, and at a Christmas party this seriously levels up, plus it’s the festive season – everyone is happier and nicer at this time of year, so who knows you could meet a new friend!
Venues organising shared Christmas parties will also try, wherever possible, to keep your company’s tables firstly, close together and secondly, only filled with your employees. We understand that there is still very much an aspect that you want to keep all your guests together at least for the meal part of the evening, so it’s very unlikely we’d sit a random couple on one of your tables. As your tables will be your tables, we can also easily accommodate additional requests if you have them, for example, if you’d like to pre-order beer buckets or wine for the table, then we can definitely do that just like it’s your own party.
Once the meal is over, let’s be honest, it’s a total free-for-all and your group naturally splits anyway. Some to the dancefloor, some to the bar and some outside, so really it’s just about enjoying the entertainment and having a good time.
