We’re well known in Reading for our Christmas party nights; more specifically our shared party nights where groups of smaller colleagues and friends join one large party. Each party night follows the same format, but thanks to our incredible bands, no two nights are the same. Not only does this mean that you can join us for more than party night if you wish, but also offers you variety if you’re a regular! So, how does a shared party night look with us?
First things first, we always offer two types of tickets for our party nights. The first option is a dinner ticket that includes a festive 3-course meal. This is the most popular choice and often is the first to sell out, simply because guests can enjoy a meal before the entertainment kicks off and the party really starts. It also means that your group has a dedicated table for your belongings and for those that may not wish to dance! The second ticket option is purely for those that would like to join us for the entertainment. Entry-only tickets enable you access to the party following the meal before the band starts – ideal for those that may be dining elsewhere, or if you’re just looking for a night out. For the purposes of this blog post, we’re going to assume that you have booked a dinner ticket.
So, it’s the night of the party. We’ve already asked for your group’s menu choices and dietary requirements in advance, so we know exactly what we’re serving to your table. On the door, you’ll be greeted by one of our staff members who will sign you in and show you to your table. Once everyone attending the party night has arrived, we’ll start food service; starters, mains and desserts. Throughout dinner service, our bar will be open for you and your group to purchase drinks from.
Once dinner service has finished, that’s when the party really starts. The band performing that night will start their first set shortly after dinner. We pride ourselves on the quality and professionalism of our bands; a lot of them have been performing on our stage for years and have become great friends to us. Each band is unique and perform different genres of music, so when choosing your party night it’s important to select the right band for your group’s music tastes. Genres range from jazz (of course) to funk and soul through to disco and Motown. They will often cover modern hits too with their own individual artistic take. Our bands tend to play two sets and then our resident DJ (DJ Kofi) will hit the decks to keep the party going into the early hours of the morning.
Once DJ Kofi has finished that’s the end of the night! Maybe you’ll head into Reading town centre (only a short 10 minute taxi ride away) for more celebrations or perhaps you’ll be retiring to a comfy bedroom at neighbouring 4* hotel, voco Reading.
