Personalisation is a growing trend in the wedding industry, as wedding couples are choosing to curate beautiful, bespoke experiences that reflect their personalities and who they are as a couple.
So, if you’re recently engaged and in the throes of wedding planning and looking to inject some uniqueness that embodies your relationship into your wedding day, keep reading for some personalised wedding inspiration.
Colour Scheme

The colour scheme of your wedding can often be one of the very first decisions that you make as a wedding couple; you might even choose your colour scheme before you’ve even picked your wedding venue knowing that you need the right venue for the colour palette that you have in mind.
You might decide that you want your colour scheme to reflect the season you’re getting married in; pastels in spring, bright colours for summer etc, or, you may decide that you want to personalise your colour scheme by choosing shades that mean something to you. It might be that you combine your two favourite colours, or you choose your colour scheme based on a holiday that you both loved. The colours that you choose for your wedding day are a really fun way of personalising your wedding in a subtle way.
Stationery
As a wedding venue we have seen a lot of personalised wedding stationery, but it’s one of the easiest ways to inject personalisation into your wedding day. Wedding stationery encompasses everything from your wedding invites, to your table plan and place cards to your menu cards.
Often wedding couples will choose one theme or design for their wedding stationery so that everything looks consistent when it’s all laid out on the table, so why not choose something that reflects who you are as a couple? Over the years, we have seen couples choose to theme their stationery around travel, by naming their tables after holiday destinations that they have visited together; or their favourite restaurants, naming each table after a restaurant. Another popular theme is Disney, with wedding couples naming tables after their favourite Disney films or characters and then decorating each table after that particular film / character.
Cakes

Instead of a traditional tiered wedding cake, why not ask your wedding cake-maker to create a bespoke cake that captures something meaningful to you both?
After a heart-shaped cake featured in the hit Netflix series, Bridgerton, these adorable, vintage cakes have been popping up everywhere from weddings to birthdays, so traditional cakes have certainly taken a backseat.
It could be that you prefer savoury food over sweet, so you opt for a cheese cake (a cake made out cheese) instead and serve it with crackers, grapes and chutney. Or, theme your cake around where you met, a memorable holiday, or even where you’re going on honeymoon.
Drinks
Like the idea of personalising your wedding day, but want to make it as simple as possible? This category could be for you!
It could be as simple as swapping out Prosecco for your drinks reception to bottled craft beers because you both love craft beer, or choosing to serve your favourite drink from a local supplier. If you want to go one step further, you could ask your venue if they can create two different cocktails for your wedding that are named after each you. The flavours could capture your personalities, and it will be a fun memory to hear your guests ordering cocktails named after you.
However you choose to personalise your wedding, the most important thing to remember is that it’s your wedding day, so you can do exactly what you please!
