1. Location
Conveniently located a couple of minutes from J11 of the M4, The Jazz Cafe is easily accessible by car whether your guests are coming from near or far. Plus, there is onsite, complimentary car parking too.
Reading’s main train station is only a short taxi drive away offering fast, direct links to London and the surrounding areas, again making it very easy for your guests to get to us. If you have any international guests attending your event, Heathrow Airport is only around 40 minutes down the M4 too.
2. Our Venue
The Jazz Cafe itself is a lovely space with a maximum capacity of 240 guests for those large, lavish occasions, and can also happily accommodate more intimate gatherings of 50 without looking lost in the room.
Our venue is a blank canvas, and can easily be dressed up for the occasion whatever your taste. We have some wonderful local décor companies who offer chair covers & sashes and table centrepieces, plus balloon arches and much more! As we are a live music venue, we also have state-of-the-art AV equipment, so we can easily play background music for your event, or you’d be welcome to bring in your own entertainment. We allow DJs, bands, casino tables and even photobooths; all we ask is that we are sent their Public Liability Certificate and PAT Testing in advance of your event.
3. Delicious, Flexible Menus
We understand that food is an important part of your event, that’s why we aim to be as flexible with our catering as possible.
Whether you’d like to serve a three-course sit-down meal or an informal finger buffet, our Chef can create a menu bursting with variety and flavour to suit your event perfectly. We have some sample menus on our website, you would be welcome to look at.
Our food is cooked fresh each day from scratch, so we can also easily accommodate for any dietary or allergy requirements you or your guests may have. Please just let us know in advance so that we can make the proper arrangements.
4. Entertainment Options
By nature we’re a live music venue – that’s what we’re known for in the local area. So, naturally, we have contacts with lots of incredible bands and DJs who regularly play at our venue.
If you have a particular band or DJ that you’d like to bring to our venue, then that’s great, but if you don’t and need a little help, we would be delighted to recommend one of our regular DJs or bands. They all have their own unique sound and cover different music genres, so we’re bound to have at least one band that you love!
5. Nearby Accommodation
We’re very fortunate to be located on the same site as voco Reading, a 4-star IHG hotel. voco Reading is a stunning, modern hotel with two restaurants, a bar and leisure facilities, offering comfortable guest rooms at a reduced rate for guests of The Jazz Cafe.
