The songs that continue to appear on the charts and continually get played on the radio and at Christmas parties up and down the country. So, did your favourite Christmas tune make the list?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cAll I Want For Christmas Is You\u201d, Mariah Carey<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It was only right that we started our list with this Christmas classic. A song that everyone knows the words to and is for sure a firm favourite to sing and dance along to. There\u2019s something timeless about this tune as it certainly doesn\u2019t feel dated each year that it is played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it\u2019s one of the most popular songs of the season, when it was first released in 1994, it entered the UK Singles Chart at number 5 during the week of 10<sup>th<\/sup> December. The following week it reached number 2, but it wasn\u2019t until 2020, 26 years after it\u2019s initial release that it finally topped the chart at number 1!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As of January 2017, it\u2019s spent 78 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and as of December 2013, sold over 1 million copies in the UK alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/thejazzcafe.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Mariah-Carey_-Merry-Christmas-Vinyl.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-653\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cLast Christmas\u201d, Wham!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Would this really be a list of the best Christmas songs, if this song didn\u2019t feature on it? A favourite that is always played at Christmas time, some may say a little too often, but that\u2019s why we love it! When Wham! released this song, it peaked on the chart at number 2, with Band Aid\u2019s \u201cDo They Know It\u2019s Christmas?\u201d pipping it to the post to number 1. Much like \u201cAll I Want For Christmas\u201d, it finally topped the chart on 1<sup>st<\/sup> January 2021, 36 years after it\u2019s release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cStay Another Day\u201d, East 17<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Released back in November 1994, this song is East 17\u2019s only number 1 when it was Christmas number 1 in 1994. Although it was voted The Nation\u2019s Favourite Christmas Song back in 2012, this tune has never been Christmas number 1, peaking at number 2. This song charts each year and also became the group\u2019s second highest chart hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s well known for its \u201cring-a-ling-a-ling-ding-dong-ding\u201d section and the sound effects of horses\u2019 hooves and whinny.
